Moab

This past May, Chris and I took a trip to Moab, Ut for our second anniversary.

The picture above is a picture of a formation called Dead Horse Point. There is a legend that said that cowboys would drive wild mustangs onto this point which was a natural corral and pick the horses that they wanted than left the rest to die in sight of water. Isn't that just depressing?
Chris and I than hiked up to Delicate Arch which was a nice hike. However, when we got to the arch, there was a huge school group that was taking pictures underneath the arch. So, it was really crowded when we got there. It was still really beautiful. Chris was a little disappointed because he thought that the rock was a lot more delicate than it actually was.

We took our jeep on a 100 mile long 4-wheeling trip. It took us about a day and a half to complete. It was really fun, accept by the end, we felt like bobble heads because it was so bumpy. We weren't in the car the whole time. There was a couple of really nice hikes that we were able to do. We might try and do it again next year, but I'm going to try biking it instead of riding in the jeep.

The last day we were there, we went back to Arches National Park, and did their longest hike which is called the Devils Garden. It was incredible. It is about 6 miles long and most of it is without a formal trail. It was really fun to climb over all of the rocks and we felt like we were explorers. This was the climax, called Double O Arch because there are acutally two arches if you look close. It was amazing.
We had so much fun on this trip that we hope to make it a destination every year that we live here in Utah.
