First Time at the Park

Today Alex and I along with our friends Sharsti and Jackson went to the park. This was the first time that Alex had ever been to a park and I think that she enjoyed it. It's just too bad that there weren't any swings..oh well, maybe next time. We still had fun hanging out with our friends and Alex and I even went down a slide together. Hopefully, as the weather get's better, we'll be able to go out more. Here are some pictures from our fun outing:

A Beautiful Day

Today has been such a beautiful day so far that I thought it would be fun to play outside for a while. I got Alex's sun bonnet on and we headed out. Gir came outside as well and seemed to enjoy having us outside with him. Alex seemed to enjoy the sunshine very much and I really enjoyed it as well. We played for a while, but Alex was starting to feel tired so we headed back inside. Hopefully we'll be able to make this more of a habit!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a very eventful St. Patrick's Day yesterday. We all got dressed in green, ate a green breakfast (except for Alex), and went to an REI Garage sale (a member's only sale). It was super windy so, Alex and I waited inside the store while Daddy, and Grandma/Grandpa Prusso went looking for REI treasure. Alex got so excited that she fell asleep while we were looking around in the store. I found her some cute socks and I was blinded by sheer baby cuteness at what REI had to offer in terms of baby clothes (they have a baby wet suit!!! Not a real one, but a swimsuit that is meant to look like a wet suit). When Grandma/Grandpa Prusso and Daddy made it inside we went to the checkout lane and purchased our treasures. Afterwards, we went and spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house where we played, Alex attempted to nap (not successfully), played some more, watched Hugo, watched Top Gear, and then attempted to get Alex to nap again. Finally, in order to get her to sleep, Daddy snuggled with her and they both slept for a while. In the evening we went over to the Nelson's house for a wonderful dinner of corned beef sandwiches (which were SO good). Alex ate some avocado puree and watched as the adults talked and laughed. It was a fun evening and we really enjoyed it. When dinner was over it was time to go home and go to bed. Since Alex didn't sleep very well during the day, we were hoping that she would go to sleep better at home. Luckily she went to sleep without any problems and hopefully she had some good St. Patrick's Day dreams!

Highchair Adventures

So, Chris and I have been putting off buying a highchair for some unknown reason but I decided this past weekend that it was time. Alex was getting really squirmy in her bumbo chair when I tried to feed her and I was getting worried that she was getting too big for it so, Chris and I headed to IKEA where we picked up a cute black wooden highchair. Knowing IKEA, we would have to put our new highchair together. Chris went on some errands (testing cars with my brother and Dad and getting a haircut) and I was determined to put it together by myself. Alex was on a nap which was good since she probably would have laughed at me. It took me about an hour and a half. Silly me, I thought that it couldn't be too hard to put a little chair together..HA HAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (that is me laughing..a lot). It was so frustrating! The instructions made it look so easy but when I got one side perfectly aligned, the other side would completely mess it up. It didn't help that I also got some of the screws mixed up and put them in the wrong place. I was determined though to finish it all by myself by the time that Chris got home and eventually, I did it! I got everything put together and screwed down tight. Alex even seems to like it! All of the frustration and annoyance was worth it because it makes Alex happy. I learned my lesson though, IKEA furniture should be put together by at least two people...no matter what size!

Household Photography

Today I thought that it would be fun to try and see my house in a new way so I decided to take some pictures of random items around my house...oh and some deer from my backyard. I had fun and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do!

SNOW!

We have had a lot of snow the last couple of days (which has been unusual this year) and I thought it would be fun to do a little photo shoot in my back yard. Here are the results. Enjoy!

I also decided to take some self portraits while I was taking pictures and this one made me laugh.

Mmmmm...Bread...

Other than my family, there are a couple of things that I'm passionate about. One of those is bread. I love (I mean really, really, really love bread) bread and before Alex was born, I used to dabble in making it every once in a while. Lately I've been picking it up again while Alex is on her nap. The bread that I've made lately are Zopf (a Swiss bread), some banana bread muffins (were SO good) and today I made Rosemary Olive-oil bread. It is delicious!! The nice thing is that I've been able to find some new recipes online and I can't wait to make them. I foresee a lot more bread in the future!
