Chris is 28!!

This past Thursday was Chris' 28th birthday! I kept urging him to open one present before his birthday but he wouldn't budge. He insisted on waiting for his actual birthday (I get super excited about birthday's and I can't wait to see the presents). In the morning, we got up and Chris opened his presents with the help of Alex and Gir. I made breakfast and we enjoyed just hanging out while Chris was having fun with his gifts. We watched a movie that Chris got and ate lunch while Alex took a nap and then we went to Sears so that Chris could spend some birthday money. He got some tools and we had fun walking around the mall. We also went to the Aquarium store so that we could get items for our new fish tank (pictures to come when we actually have fish). When we got home I made dinner and got dessert ready. The food was good but the company was better. After dinner, we Skyped with Grandma and Grandpa Miller and little Alex loved talking to them and letting them know how she was doing. We then had dessert and relaxed for the rest of the day. Hopefully, 28 has been good to Chris so far.

Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival

Today we went to the Annual Tulip Festival at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. We've gone every year for the past couple of years and we love looking at and taking pictures of the beautiful flowers. This year, we had lunch at the Garden's Cafe (which was soo good) and then we went exploring. The weather was slightly cool and a little windy but it felt nice while we were walking around. Little Alex liked trying to pick the flowers if she got close enough and sitting on Daddy's shoulders. Mommy enjoyed taking pictures and hanging out with the family! It took us about an hour to navigate through the various gardens and it was a good thing that we left when we did because it started to rain! It was a lot of fun and I think that we'll enjoy going again next year. Here are some of the pictures from today:

Easter

Yesterday, we celebrated Alex's first Easter! When all of us woke up, we went downstairs and saw what the Easter Bunny had left for us. Alex got two cute Easter dresses and an egg counting book. Mommy and Daddy got lots of candy and some little trinkets. Once everything was open, we got ready and left for Church. Alex stayed awake and pleasant for all of Church which was a very nice and rare gift for Mommy and Daddy. When we got home, Alex took a nap and Mommy and Daddy relaxed. Uncle Brett came over for the first
Easter dinner that we've made. After dinner we had a good dessert and we enjoyed a fun evening together. Alex and Chris were even able to Skype with Grandma and Grandpa Miller in the evening. Overall, it was a good first Easter!
