The Great Bread Caper

All that was left of the bread...
Early Friday morning, Mother was going about her normal morning routine when she noticed something diabolical! The bread she had set out the night before to defrost was gone! The whole loaf! All that was left was the shredded remains of the bag. What could have happened? A whole loaf!! There were only two possible suspects, Lucky and Gir. Lucky had free reign of the house when everyone went to bed and Gir was shut up in our room. It is doubtful that Lucky could have eaten the whole loaf by herself.....or is it? Mother went to work puzzled and quite frustrated at the nighttime activities in her house. Meanwhile, when Dad and I reviewed the evidence of the night before, we remembered that Gir had been let out of the room earlier than usual the night before and it was quite possible that he aided Lucky in the dastardly plot! When Dad and I told Mother our idea when she came home from work, it made since. However, Gir had no physical evidence linking him to the crime, while a close examination of Lucky revealed old pieces of bread stuck in her ears! She was caught!!!
Lucky with the evidence on her person (well, dog).

Conclusion: We know for certain that Lucky ate some if not all of the bread, but we suspect that Gir helped her along! We also moved the bread into a more secure location so that hopefully this terrible crime will not happen again!!!
PS. Lucky had also gotten into a lot of the trashes also that night, but was still hungry for breakfast the next morning!

Pumpkin Carving Madness!

Chris and his amazing Beagle pumpkin
One of my favorite fall activities is carving pumpkins
for Halloween. This year, Chris brought innovation
to the table, and carved his pumpkin (in the shape
of a beagle) with a dremmel. It was pretty funny to
watch him at work. Little bits of pumpkin was flying
everywhere! The end result was amazing! It looks so
good. I told him that he's going to have to get me one
to use on my pumpkin next year.

Caught Red Handed...well...Red Pawed

Our dogs have the habit of searching the household trash cans
at night or when the family is absent, and most of the time,
we aren't sure who the culprit is (although Lucky usually get's
the blame). However, last night when Chris and I got home
I noticed that Lucky had some red flecks on her legs. I thought
that it was paint or something that she got into. I asked Chris
what he thought it might be, and he told me that it was gum.
Apparently, Lucky got into my Dad's office and rooted through
the trash. What she found was a packet of cinnamon gum which
she then devoured. The red flecks on Lucky's legs, were the leftovers
from eating the gum. We literally caught her red handed in her trash looting
habits! It was pretty funny! She finally ate all of the red flecks of gum off
her legs!

Lazy Dog Day

How wonderful would it be to have a lazy dog day?
You could sleep on Mom and Dad's pillows, you could
sun yourself on your favorite chair, and you could sit
and watch as the world went by. Ahhh, that sounds
relaxing. Well, someone has to do it, and it might as
well be Gir. He is now an expert on lazy dog days.
I wonder why?

Fall Picnic

One of the greatest things about fall is
going on a picnic with friends and family
up in the beautiful canyons here in Utah,
and getting to see the beautiful fall colors.
Last night, Chris, Gir, Mom, Aunt Julie, Amanda,
and I did just that. We had a picnic and went for a beautiful
scenic walk. The only thing that could have made it better was
if it was perhaps a little warmer. It was fun, and the tree's were beautiful!

Pumpkins

One of the things that I love the most about this time of the year
are pumpkins! I love going to the Pumpkin patch, going through
potential pumpkins until you find the one. Then, right before
Halloween, we get to carve the pumpkin and roast the seeds.
It's a great time for family and memories! This year, Chris
and I planted our own garden. While we had a lot of cucumbers,
we only got one pumpkin. Today we picked our one pumpkin
so that in a couple of weeks, we can carve it and create some
lasting memories!

Mountain Biking

For the past several Saturdays,
I have been undertaking a new experience.
I took a mountain biking class from school and went
out riding. Although I was a little nervous to try, I found that once I
got going, it was a really fun experience. For our last class, we went riding
up in the canyons. It was so beautiful with all of the fall colors and I had a blast!
Hopefully I'll keep up with this fun sport!
