Today was my last day as an employed woman. I've been looking forward to this day since I started working, but I never thought that I would actually be sad about leaving. During my year at work, I've made some pretty good friends and it was harder than I thought to say goodbye. My co-workers have been very supportive about my baby and the ladies that I worked with even threw me a wonderful baby shower. It was hard to say goodbye, but hopefully i'll be able to keep in contact with the friends I've made.

Busy Day
Yesterday was quite a busy day for Chris and I. We first went to the Utah Renaissance and Fantasy Fair and ended the day at a fancy Semi-formal dinner for Chris' company L3 at the Grand America Hotel in downtown SLC. The fair was pretty fun, although it was smaller than it has been in the past. We watched an amazing show of young ladies who did acrobatic stunts while on the back of a moving horse (see picture). It was really cool and we were guessing that every little girl who was watching were wishing that they could dance on horses. I was amazed at the skill and poise of the acrobats, they smiled and performed their stunts with great skill. After the show we walked around the tents, looking for cool trinkets. I found a cool chain-mail bracelet but that was the only thing that we got. One reason that I like to attend these kind of festivals, is to see what costumes people will show up in. There were some really cool costumes yesterday such as a very well done Jack Sparrow and some fancy Renaissance Ladies Dresses, but most people were disappointing. There were a lot of "belly dancers" who showed up with bad looking costumes and way too much belly exposed (especially those who should never show off their belly's in public). We did meet a man who called himself "Chocolate Jesus" which I thought was funny. He looked like Jesus and owned a chocolate stand. There truly are some unique people in this world. We started watching the Joust, but the performers talked for so long and I had been standing on my feet for too long, so, we ended up leaving before we saw much and heading home. Later in the evening, we got all fancy to attend an Evening of Excellence for L3 (where Chris now works FULL TIME!!!). Chris wasn't sure why he was invited since he did not really work on any of the projects that were being highlighted, but we weren't going to say no to a free dinner and a chance to see inside the Grand America Hotel in SLC. Since we didn't really know anyone there, we mostly talked to ourselves and enjoyed the good food. We did chat with a couple people and we sat down with a nice couple during dinner. It was a fun evening and the food was really good also. Overall, we had a fun, busy day!

15 Semesters in the Making
Congratulations to Chris for his remarkable achievement in graduating from College today! He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in the College of Engineering. I am so proud of Chris and all that he has learned and accomplished during his time at the University of Utah! Way to go!
5 Years and Counting
5 years ago today Chris and I were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They have been the best years of my life and I can't believe that I get to spend the rest of eternity with the love of my life. How did I ever get to be so lucky?
